Sicily 1943

Two weeks ago, we had a long weekend, and there was no reason not to game, so on that day, Dave, Terry, Brae, and Tim managed to play a large game of Chain of Command. Our forces today were the British 8th Army fighting against my freshly painted Italian lads in the ‘Attack and Objective’ scenario.

Turned out to be a good afternoon of gaming, however, the steam was knocked out of the 8th Army lads after they were caught in the open by the Italian MMG Team and two LMG teams. This caused the British infantry section to break and flee from the field of battle. They also lost their Jr Leader.

With the loss of the section, and then the British MMG Team was hit and routed the British morale dropped to under 4, however, they did manage to hold for a few more turns before an Italian light tank zipped across the battlefield, causing more havoc than we all thought possible.

In addition, even though each side managed to hit opposing tanks repeatedly, it was not until the very last turn that one was finally destroyed, as there were some fantastic hits and equally good saving rolls.

Thanks again to Dave, Tim, Brae, and Terry for the great afternoon.
