A couple of weekend’s ago, we played a game that took us back to North Africa in 1942, with a one-sided battle between the British 8th Army lads and a highly motivated Italian Bersaglieri Platoon. On one side, Dave Lowe commanded the British, and Brae (the Bear) and I jointly commanded the Italians.

The game started well for the Italians, with troops deployed into good solid terrain. However, that was as far as it went; in other words, we were severely defeated by Dave’s superior dice rolling and multiple double 6’s. Our elite Bersaglieri, though very motivated, were not able to dent the British defensive position, especially after losing our little tank to a well-aimed AT round from Dave’s 6pdr.

Well done, Dave, and thank you for an enjoyable game. The 8th Army figures are Perry Miniatures and are from my collection. The wonderfully painted Italians are the old Warlord Games metals, which I think are no longer available, and are from John’s collection.
