It was another great day of gaming with Mr Scott Robertson, this time a game of Chain of Command ‘Blitzkrieg 1940’……. I sure did get Blitzkrieged, but it was a very fun game. On the German side, commanded by Herr Scott, I insisted that he field the two freshly painted Kfz 13s only because they had to be used.

Well, they did quite well, and both contributed noticeably to the French defeat. Though I would have to say that the SdKfz 221 crew earned themselves at least the Iron Cross 2nd Class, as they were able to follow up the French withdrawal on the German left flank and gunned down the French Platoon Commander, thus winning the game.

On the French left, there was some success for the French troops, with the small VB team effectively suppressing a German section who were occupying one of the double-storied brick houses. Then, there was a small French armoured attack from two FT-17/31’s (one broke down) and a Renault R40. This little force certainly made the Germans sweat a little, but then they deployed their Pak36….and boom!!!….. an FT-17 was hit hard and forced to pull back.

But by that time, the French Commander was MIA, and two sections had been shot to pieces…..the remaining French troops quickly fell back to another defensive position. Many thanks again, Scott, for the great game and good sportsmanship.

The figures and terrain are all 28mm and from my little modest collection.
