Back to Napoleonics

Today myself and a good friend, Jeff Smith, got together and played a small game of Napoleonics. We have not played this period since the start of the year, so it was good to drag out the figures and game on. We played using the Fortune & Glory Napoleonic rules, developed by Andrew Parr. Jeff played the French and I the Austrians. We both had eight battalions of infantry each, but Jeff had the advantage of Artillery and I cavalry.
Jeff and I tended to do a fair bit of talking before we got the game going so we only had enough time to play five turns. However, I think if another turn was played Jeff would have broken through my centre and routed the Austrian Army (Me).
All the figures used in todays game were from the Elite Miniatures range and painted by our good friend Leroy Simpson.
Austrian Ulans charge forward under the watchful eye of their commander.
French Line Infantry
The view from behind the Austrian battery…perfect
French skirmishers
Center of the table saw mass attacks on both sides. Jeff’s French finally broke my centre.
Austrian Grenadiers stopped and held French attempts to turn the Austrian left flank.
Austrian Cuirassiers advance on the French left flank
French Imperial Guard Chasseurs attempt to stop the Austrians but get pushed back.
Jeff’s troops break my centre
My Ulans are defeated and route from the field.
