Last weekend game was a Sharp Practice game was set during the French & Indian Wars. On one side commanding the Anglo-American Forces was Major Tim Jolly, whose forces consisted of two Colonial Militia units, Settler skirmishers, Frontier Skirmishers, two units of Rangers and one Allied Indian Unit. On the French side commanded by Major David de Lowe were two Marine Infantry units, one Marine Skirmisher, one coureur de bois, and two Allied Indian units. In total including commanders the British (with seven leaders) and the French (six leaders) was 68pts each.

As the scenario rolled was to sweep the table I gave the French further objectives to achieve, in order to reduce the Force Morale of the Anglo-American forces, which were that they had to burn as many farms as possible (with each farm burnt the Allied player had to roll for a Loss of Face) and for the Allied Indians to capture as many women and children as the game allowed (for each captured civilian that was taken of the board the Allied player was to roll for a Cowardly Act). The Anglo-American forces was to prevent the capture of their women folk and prevent the farms being burnt……and both sides were to try and reduce the others Force Morale and force them to retire.

In regard to the game the French and their Allied Indians managed to capture two children and one of the women folk, plus burn two of the farms (they needed a 10 for the farms to burn). The French Allied Indians were, however, the champions of the day as one unit forced the Anglo-American Allied Indians to break after a devastating tomahawk throw followed by a vicious fisiticuff fight. Then on the other flank another Allied Indian unit charged the Settler skirmishers and wiped them out and then in the next turn charge the flank of the Militia line and again breaking the unit and bring victory to the French. Well done to Major David de Lowe.

Thanks again to David and Tim for coming along to the game and have a fun afternoon of gaming. The figures and terrain are all 28mm and are part of my collection.
