Light French Infantry painted by Leroy Simpson

  French Napoleonics (1800-1815) >

Figures F1-F11, F17,F18 & F21 -F24 have cast on head variations (bicornes and forage caps) supplied at random to give your units that veteran campaigner look.

Bicornes were worn by the line infantry until 1809/10. Shakos were officially issued to the line infantry in 1806, but as usual there were delays, it wasn’t until November 1809 that Suchet reported that the medley is over there are no more bicornes and no more white coats

All infantry are wearing waistcoats and  long tailed coat where applicable) as wore the line infantry well into 1814.

Old Guard infantry are wearing trousers and bearskins with plumes and cords as worn until 1815. F92-F95 & 99-102 are designed to be used together to achieve an aggressively advancing unit.
